I'm Published!

Good news! Pull out your April 2006 copy of Molecular Ecology vol. 15 (I know you have it laying around somewhere) and flip over to page 985. Thanks to Dr. Jack Sites at BYU, I was able to work on a manuscript on the population structure of the giant Amazon river turtle that was published in Molecular Ecology this month. I helped with some of the mitochondrial DNA population genetic analyses. It's only one publication, but it's my first, and I'm really excited about it. Plus, the research helps conservation efforts for the endangered turtles. Below is a picture of one of the cute lil' guys (lil' is relative, since these turtles can get up to 2 1/2 feet long).

The Miller's are Moving!

Yes, the rumors are true. After enjoying many wonderful years in Happy Valley, we are moving to South Bend, Indiana. I'm finally graduating from Brigham Young University in August, and I've accepted a doctoral position at the University of Notre Dame. What can I say. I love small, private, religious universities! We're sad to leave our families and friends, but we'll be back in five years...maybe as Catholics! Until then, please, visit us in South Bend- we'll take you to the Studebaker Museum.

The Miller blog begins!

Hi,

It just seems like everyone is doing this so I thought I might give it a try. I don't know how often it will be updated but feel free to check back every year or so and see what has happened in our world.

I may even have a website soon (kevinrmiller.com) but that is taking a little longer then first expected. I'll be sure to post when it is up and going. (summer 2007) :-)

I guess I'll throw in a pic just for fun to start it off.
