Birthdays, Sub-zero Temps, and Football

First off, we want to wish Natalie a happy birthday!! We're bummed we couldn't be there to celebrate with her, but we hope it was a good one. If anyone is still looking for a gift for her, she really wants a Wii. Happy birthday!!

Brrr! We've been bundled up for the past couple of weeks. After all the big snow storms, temperatures dropped to sub-zero temps with wind chills of -20 degrees. Schools and businesses shut down, and we were all advised not to be outside for longer than 30 minutes for fear of frostbite. We've never experienced this cold of weather before, but we survived. Notre Dame and Crowe both stayed open, and life went on as usual.

Not much else is going on. We had a Super Bowl party with some friends. It was a great excuse to pig out on all sorts of food. The game was a big deal here because the two teams are both nearby. I'd say that most of South Bend was for the Bears. State boundaries don't mean much here in Michiana.

School is still going well. I'm feeling pressure to pick a lab to work in. It's going to be a hard decision since both have a lot of good things going for them. Meanwhile, I'm having fun and working hard. Kevin's job is starting to pick up too with tax season in full swing. Hope you all are staying warm!

And have a happy Valentine's Day!!

hey i remember living in buffalo, and there were two reasons school would close down in the winter, snow days and "cold days." indiana probably has those, too. snow days are obvious, but cold days were when it was too cold for kids to wait for the bus. scary cold!! i don't miss it. the weather in jacksonville is variable from shorts weather to pants weather, but i haven't had to whip out my winter jacket yet :) ~michelle (stay warm!)
